You found my Games page!
Video Games used to be Games but now they're Sports! So they're moving to my Electronic Sports site, Game Scape US.
This page now highlights my favorite, electricity-independent games: Table-Top Games!
Table-Top Games are more social and, unlike Video Games, R designed for group play!
On this site, the capitalized word, Magic, refers to the popular Table-Top, Card Combat Game, Magic The Gathering.
There are many other Table-Top games, but after playing for some time, and comparing as a User Experience researcher, Magic The Gathering won as my favorite, without a doubt!
Abbreviated as MTG, Magic is fun to play and lasts like a Chess game without the limits of Chess.
Fantasy Players want a charging landscape for play. Classic games like Chess are great, but fantasy games evolve and that attracts fantasy game play fans.
We're a different breed of Table-Top Gamer than a Chess player. We know we are.
We love fair competition and fair game play and we're always ready to settle our differences at the Game Table, instead of with crude language or gas-lit passive aggression. It works because games like Magic change over time so even if two players settled a score before, a new twist in the game could turn the tables and make the same fuel that was once settled, up for grabs again! It happens all the time! And it's why communities continue to thrive even if their squabbles live on and on! It's a more civilized way to disagree and then settle a disagreement!
Leave it at the Game Table! That's what I do in 2025!
There are many other Table-Top Games. For example, there's Star Wars Unlimited. There are many others. I don't list them here because you can just search for them in your favorite store. Or you can visit San Francisco's Gamescape store, the physical one, not my digital-only website, at https://gamescape.com . I used to visit that store when I got my allowance when I was a boy! They always have the popular games in there and they were happy to watch me figure out what was the best use of my game funds that time! I went to school nearby so it's a childhood favorite place for me!
If you want to know about the landscape of E-Sports, what Video Games have become, you can visit my site, https://game-scape.us , to see which U. S. Universities have teams playing E-Sports. I changed my https://gamescape.co.nz , site, which was my first Web-startup to this new, United States version. The New Zealand version, will list New Zealand's E-Sports teams once I get their names and invitation to cover them on that site.
As for those who wondered where I got the name "Gamescape." I dreamed it up while living there and didn't recall that it was the name of that game and toy store I always talked my parents into driving me to. I never knew the name. I just knew how to get there! It was Gamescape! Talk about deep memories! Those ran and still run deep!
And if you want to see what I think about video games, in general, you can watch my short, five-minute documentary about the landscape of video games that I made for my first Senior Thesis during my undergraduate degree, called Gamescape DVD, because it's a DVD I made. It's posted here and you can watch it there: The Trailer, https://vimeo.com/27347272 , and here , https://vimeo.com/24669506 , for the Video.
None of my work with Gamescape this or Gamescape that ever seeks to compete with the Gamescape physical store. That's just not in my nature. It never has been.
Dwarven Forge sells 3D D&D Map Pieces for Table Top Gaming.
